Booking a safari with Wetuli Safaris is easy:

  • Step 1: Browse our website to explore our safari packages and choose one that fits your interests.
  • Step 2: Contact us via our inquiry form, email, or phone to discuss your preferred itinerary, dates, and any customizations.
  • Step 3: Once we finalize the itinerary, we’ll send you a detailed proposal and quotation.
  • Step 4: Confirm your booking by making a deposit, and we’ll handle the rest, including accommodation, permits, and transportation.

We recommend packing the following essentials for your Uganda safari:

  • Clothing: Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants in neutral colors for game drives and treks, a warm jacket for cooler mornings and evenings, and a rain jacket.
  • Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots for trekking and comfortable shoes for game drives.
  • Accessories: Sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and a good camera with a zoom lens.
  • Daypack: For carrying essentials like water, snacks, and personal items during excursions.

Our payment terms and cancellation policy are as follows:

  • Payment Terms: A deposit of 30-50% is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due 30 days before your safari start date. We accept payments via bank transfer, credit card, or mobile money.
  • Cancellation Policy:
    • Cancellations made more than 60 days before departure: Full refund minus an administrative fee.
    • Cancellations made 30-60 days before departure: 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure: No refund.
  • Note: Some exceptions may apply, especially for permits that are non-refundable, such as gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits.

Before traveling to Uganda, consider the following health precautions:

  • Yellow Fever Vaccination: Required for entry into Uganda.
  • Malaria Prevention: Take antimalarial medication as recommended by your doctor, and use insect repellent to protect against mosquito bites.
  • Routine Vaccinations: Ensure you are up to date with routine vaccinations such as hepatitis A, typhoid, and tetanus.
  • COVID-19 Requirements: Check the latest guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements before your trip.

The cost of our safari packages typically includes:

  • Accommodation: In lodges, tented camps, or hotels, depending on the package.

  • Meals: As specified in the itinerary (usually breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

  • Transportation: In a 4×4 safari vehicle with an experienced driver/guide.

  • Park Entry Fees: For all national parks and reserves visited during the safari.

  • Permits: For activities such as gorilla and chimpanzee trekking.

  • Guided Activities: Game drives, guided walks, and cultural tours.

  • Bottled Water: Provided during game drives and excursions.

  • Exclusions: International flights, visas, travel insurance, personal expenses, and gratuities.

Our guides at Wetuli Safaris are highly experienced, professional, and passionate about Uganda’s wildlife and culture. They are knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, skilled at tracking wildlife, and trained in safety protocols to ensure a secure and enriching safari experience. Many of our guides are also fluent in multiple languages and have received extensive training in hospitality and customer service.

We recommend booking your safari at least 3 to 6 months in advance, especially for popular activities like gorilla trekking, which require permits that are limited in number and can sell out quickly. Early booking also allows us to secure the best accommodation and ensure your preferred travel dates.

  • Answer: Yes, Wetuli Safaris caters to all types of travelers, including solo adventurers, families, couples, and large groups. We can customize the safari experience to suit your group size, whether you’re seeking a private, intimate journey or a group adventure with friends or family.

 

  • Uganda has a tropical climate with two main seasons:
    • Dry Season: June to September and December to February, which are the best times for safaris, especially for gorilla trekking and wildlife viewing.
    • Wet Season: March to May and October to November, when the landscape is lush but trails can be muddy and some areas may be harder to access.
    • Temperatures: Generally range between 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F), with cooler temperatures in higher altitudes like Bwindi and the Rwenzori Mountains.
    • Preparation: Pack layers to adjust to varying temperatures, a rain jacket, and sun protection for the best comfort.
